On 1 June 2024, Iraq hosted its first international conference on artificial intelligence (AI) in Erbil, in partnership with Vision Education. This landmark event aimed to introduce AI as a revolutionary technology that is driving significant changes and advancements in science, humanity, and global information.
The conference brought together over 15 professors specialising in technology and AI from Kurdistan and abroad. These experts discussed AI’s role and its impact on various sectors of society and humanity at large.
The event featured six specialised workshops, covering topics such as AI’s role in computer science, natural language processing, cybersecurity, laws and regulations, as well as its applications in business and healthcare.
This conference served as an important platform for fostering connections between local and international technology experts, facilitating the exchange of the latest advancements in AI.
Vision Education played a key role as the main organising partner of the conference, marking the first time such an event had been held in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Experts and scientists viewed the conference as a crucial step in keeping pace with the latest technological developments and AI trends shaping the modern world.
