Vision Education announces 1st International Conference in Vienna, Austria on Urban and City Planning, Sustainability, and Smart Technologies, emphasizing education’s role in shaping sustainable urban futures.
Event Overview
Vision Education announces its 1st International Conference on Urban and City Planning, Sustainability, and Smart Technologies under the theme “Cities and Regions of Tomorrow: Planning Together Through Education.” Scheduled to take place on March 23–25, 2026, the conference comes at a time when urban and regional challenges are accelerating from climate change and migration to digital transformation and social inequality and underscores that education is the cornerstone of sustainable solutions. The announcement of this landmark event follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Vision Education and REAL CORP, a collaboration that formalizes a shared commitment to advancing knowledge, innovation, and inclusive urban development. In close partnership with REAL CORP, an international organization, which has been organizing smart-cities, urban development, and spatial planning conferences annually since 1996 and is now entering its 31st edition, Vision Education brings this event to life with a partner whose three decades of experience ensures depth, reach, and prestige.
The programme will address urgent and future-oriented topics including Affordable Housing as a Global Challenge, Bridging Heritage and Future, and Water Management as a Key for Shaping the Future, explored across all spatial scales, from the village and city level to regional, national, and international dimensions. By bringing together educators, researchers, urbanists, diplomats, government officials, and community leaders, the event highlights how knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, and participatory education processes can drive inclusive and visionary planning for the future of transforming cities and regions.
“Manfred Schrenk – Chairman of CORP”
“This partnership broadens our horizons, professionally and geographically. Education is a central lever for sustainable transformation, and together with Vision Education we can spark new momentum.”
As Manfred Schrenk, Chairman of CORP, further notes, the alliance reflects the shared mission of both institutions to build bridges across regions and disciplines, and to empower planners, educators, and civic stakeholders with tools and knowledge to drive sustainable urban futures
“Prof. Dr. Dana Mawlood – CEO of Vision Education”
Our mission is to build bridges through education,” said Prof. Dr. Dana Mawlood, CEO of Vision Education. “The collaboration with CORP enables us to connect those bridges directly to urban and regional development and thereby shape real change. Education equips individuals and institutions with the vision, skills, and shared understanding needed to respond to today’s urban challenges, and this conference is a platform to transform that mission into action.

The conference is designed for a broad community of stakeholders shaping the future of cities and regions. It welcomes educators, researchers, and students engaged in urban studies, planning, and sustainability; urbanists, architects, and technology experts advancing smart solutions; and diplomats, government officials, and policy makers responsible for guiding urban and regional development.
