Erbil, September 20, 2023 — The Catholic University in Erbil (CUE), Vision Education, and the Ministry of Higher Education of the Kurdistan Region celebrated the grand opening of the Vision Library-CUE in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Archbishop Bashar Matti Warda, Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of CUE, Ms. Sara Salahaddin, CEO of Vision Education, and Mr. Abdulfattah Abdulrazaq, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, jointly inaugurated the library.
This modern library, fully funded by Vision Education, is one of the company’s most ambitious projects in the country to date. Spanning 2,650 square meters within the CUE campus, the library boasts a modern design and can accommodate up to 600 individuals. Open to the public, it represents a significant contribution to the local community’s educational resources.
Construction began on June 15, 2021, and was successfully completed on August 1, 2022. The grand opening ceremony held on September 20, 2023, was attended by government officials, diplomats, writers, teachers, and students. After the speeches, a live orchestra performance enhanced the festive atmosphere. Attendees were able to explore the library’s resources and admire its impressive architecture, making the occasion truly special.
