Vision Education Lays the Foundation Stone for a Modern 18-Classroom Public School in Ranya

On Monday, April 22, 2024, in a momentous ceremony, Vision Education laid the foundation stone for the Didga 18-classroom public school in Ranya. The ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including senior officials from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Raparin Independent Administration.

This state-of-the-art school is funded by the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, and overseen by Vision Education. The Didga School boasts several innovative features that position it as a beacon of educational progress in the region.

The Didga School will be constructed on a sprawling 9,000-square-meter site designed to foster a connection with nature. Environmentally friendly practices will be incorporated throughout the project, including extensive gardens and green spaces. The school will be built using advanced materials and will feature cutting-edge technologies like solar panels to generate electricity and rainwater harvesting systems.

The Didga School will provide a comprehensive learning environment for students from primary to high school. It will be equipped with all essential indoor and outdoor facilities, including a well-stocked library, a stadium, and science, chemistry, and physics laboratories. With a projected completion date in early 2026, the school will have the capacity to serve over 1,000 students, nurturing the future generations of Ranya.

The ceremony served as a platform for dignitaries to express their gratitude and acknowledge the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing education. The Director General of Education of Raparin, Mohammed Karim, extended his appreciation to President Nechirvan Barzani for prioritizing the construction of a modern public school in Raparin, a region with a pressing need for investment in the educational sector.  He highlighted that the Raparin Independent Administration currently oversees more than 380 public schools serving over 100,000 students.

The Kurdistan Region’s Minister of Education, Dr. Alan Hama Saeed, echoed these sentiments, commending President Nechirvan Barzani’s firm commitment to education across the Kurdistan Region.  He lauded Vision Education’s role as a “key partner” of the Ministry since its inception in 2018, acknowledging their significant contributions that span across various educational initiatives.  The minister specifically recognized Vision Education’s impactful endeavors in fully constructing or renovating over 26 public schools throughout the Kurdistan Region.  He also commended the exceptional Vision Education’s project implemented in Soran in 2023, which successfully addressed the critical needs of 512 public schools in the area.

Sara Salahaddin Mustafa, the CEO of Vision Education, delivered a speech outlining the organization’s strong commitment to propelling the Kurdistan Region’s education sector forward.  She emphasized, “At Vision Education, we believe that education is the cornerstone of any developed society, and undoubtedly the most crucial pillar for Kurdistan’s progress. This philosophy aligns perfectly with the vision of our founder and chairman, Idris Nechirvan Barzani.”

She concluded by urging collective action, stating, “It is our collective responsibility to serve Kurdistan, transcending political, religious, and ethnic divides.  Together, we can build a modern education system that caters to the specific needs of our region, fostering social reform and paving the way for a thriving Kurdistan.”
