Erbil, August 25, 2022 — Vision Education hosted the screening of the internationally acclaimed movie, ‘The Exam (Azmoon)’, at Empire Cinema – Erbil. The film, directed by Shawket Amin Korki, is a co-production between the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Germany, and has been showcased at over 40 International Film Festivals and theatres worldwide.
The event brought together diplomats, officials from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), students, and artists, providing an opportunity to engage with the film’s powerful social commentary.
Azmoon explores significant social issues within the Kurdistan Region, such as prevailing stereotypes about women’s roles in Kurdish households and the widespread belief that success is predominantly determined by academic achievement in secondary education.
Director Shawket Amin Korki warmly welcomed the attendees and expressed his gratitude to Vision Education for hosting the screening. He highlighted the critical role of film, media, and education in our society, emphasizing their potential to drive positive change.
